Community Relations Internship

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position requires the intern to have a flexible schedule, be detail and multi-task oriented and have good communication and organizational skills. The internship must be in fulfillment of a degree requirement. This is a season long position (August-June) and it is a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Requirements:

  • Have excellent written, verbal and computer skills
  • Be dependable and detailed oriented
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office programs including Access

    General Administrative Duties:

  • Filing, photocopying, faxing, and inventorying supplies, able to lift 30 pounds
  • Assisting with mail-outs
  • Database work in Excel, Access and Filemaker
  • Assist with various department projects

    Donation Requests:

  • Open and sort mail and assist with donation requests as needed
  • Database maintenance (as well as being able to merge letters and labels)
  • Answer phones both in the department and at the company switchboard for lunch relief

  • Assist with ticket usage tracking for all franchises

    Talent Appearances

  • Mail appearance surveys and correspondence
  • Answer and sort fan mail
  • Assist with the talent appearance database
  • Assist with appearance requests

    Spurs Foundation Fundraisers:

  • Assist with phone and in-person sales of Spurs calendars
  • Assist with reservations and receipts
  • Update mailing lists of auction item solicitations
  • Work some game nights including weekends
  • Assisting with pick up of auction items (must have reliable transportation)

    Education Programs

  • Assist with selection of students and distribution of winner packages for game-by-game achievement and character recognition programs
  • Assist with numerous Spurs, Rampage and Silver Stars Education Program mailing projects as well as the distribution of the prizes awarded for each contest
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Spurs, Rampage and Silver Stars Education Programs database
  • Assist with the implementation of specific sponsor related game night and on court promotions and education/recreation program media events
  • Participate in additional Community Relations special events and game night fundraisers on an as needed basis

    Talent Appearances

  • Mail appearance surveys, confirmation letters, and correspondence
  • Answer fan mail
  • Assist with appearance requests
  • Assist with the talent appearance database
