Position Overview:
The Security Guard I position is responsible to the Security
Guard II. This position will maintain established security
policies and procedures that will protect the AT&T Center,
Practice Facility, its assets, employees, and guests. Controls
access into the AT&T Center, Practice Facility, properties
and its secured areas, patrols the facilities with special
attention to activities or situations that may breach security
or pose a safety hazard. Responds to alarms and emergency
situations which may require an immediate decision to maintain
a safe and secure environment. Knowledge of security access
systems, CCTV and other security associated equipment. Understanding
of basic security protocols, safety programs. Provide assistance
and direction in the preparation of all events. Provide and
assist in the coordination between staff, potential clients,
and promoters as needed for the successful presentation of
events. Other duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge: A minimum of 3 to 5 years in the field
of security Must have knowledge in the field of alarms, CCTV
and security control systems. Must be a self starter and be
able to work long irregular hours and possess good verbal
and written communication and team building skills. Knowledge
of computer programs i.e. WinWord, Excel, Power Point, Ungerboeck,
Time and Attendance, etc...
Responsibilities:
• Controls access to secure areas (i.e. event level,
receiving dock, locker rooms, other sensitive areas).
• Patrols and responds to alarms/emergency situations
inside/outside the AT&T Center, Practice facility and grounds.
Takes action as required.
• Responsible to the Security Guard II for the facilities
readiness condition, ability to support events, and day-to-day
operations.
• Monitors the alarm system and surveillance cameras
in and around the AT&T Center, practice facility and grounds.
• Provides information and direction to inquiries from
the public or AT&T Center and practice facility employees.
Makes the proper notification, as situations dictate.
• Takes charge of situations until relieved from duty,
prepares accident reports, incidents, hazardous situations
or other unusual events. Documents daily post activities.
• Assists in overseeing of part-time security operations
to ensure all events are properly prepared.
• Assists in carrying out emergency procedures, including
life safety and fire safety, responding to emergency calls
and coordinating with outside resources based on the standard
AT&T Center/Practice facility security protocols.
• Maintain proper dress attire for self and all personnel
assigned as instructed by AT&T Center Management.
• Delegate responsibilities to subordinates with full
recognition that overall accountability is attained and ensure
that supervised personnel perform on their own initiative
and without prior approval as described in their job description.
• Ensure that all work is preformed in accordance with
good industry practices and safety regulations.
• Assist in the supervision and monitoring of contractual
services as it relates to the AT&T Center and its needs.
• Complete all other tasks when assigned to the San
Antonio Spurs practice facility.
Education Requirements: Knowledge of law enforcement
or experience in the entertainment industry security, military
or law enforcement preferred.
Continuing Education: Attend security and safety training
as it relates to the Security functions and components of
the AT&T Center. Security Guard will be required to stay up
to date with training in security equipment, surveillance
equipment, alarms, and emergency procedures for life safety,
and fire protection.
