GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
- WNBA Marketing and Promotions Intern
- Dates of Employment
- Start Date - April
- Finish Date - August
- Pay: $550/month
- **Please Note**--Candidates must earn college credit before consideration either during the fall or spring semester
- Hours/Week: 20hrs + game nights
- Duties
- Track all in-arena sponsor promotions that run during games
- Data collected is used at the end of the year to submit to sponsors for contractual obligations
- Assist promotions coordinators with implementation of sponsorship obligations
- Assist special events manager with planning, set-up, and strike of WNBA mandated events
- Assist marketing department with game night duties
- Example - Set-up of sponsor booths, table locations, signage
- Example - Implementation of on-court promotions
- Internship as it relates to class credit
- Marketing interns have the opportunity to see the business side of sports first hand. Spurs Sports & Enterainment receive a large portion of their revenue from their sponsors. Marketing interns have the opportunity to work directly with these sponsors. They deal with the initial contractual obligations, the implementation of those obligations, and the "wrap-up" of the contracts at season's end. Marketing interns are involved with the creative side as well. They are involved with brainstorming sessions and meetings where promotional ideas are discussed.
