AT&T CENTER SELECTED AS HOST SITE FOR 2022 NCAA® MEN’S BASKETBALL REGIONAL
The NCAA announced that the AT&T Center has been named a host site for an NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Regional, scheduled for March 24 and 26, 2022.
This will be the first time the AT&T Center has been awarded an NCAA Division I Basketball Regional. In 2014, the building hosted first and second round games. The AT&T Center joins the United Center (Chicago), the Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia) and the Chase Center (San Francisco) on the list of host sites for the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Regionals.
“We look forward to hosting an NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Regional in 2022, along with our partners at UTSA, the City of San Antonio, Visit San Antonio, and San Antonio Sports,” said Lori Warren, Spurs Sports & Entertainment SVP of Corporate Finance and Strategy. “This is a great opportunity to showcase Bexar County’s AT&T Center and all that the city of San Antonio has to offer. The AT&T Center is a world-class facility and will be an excellent venue for fans to see some of the country’s top collegiate competition.”
The bid was submitted by the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee (SALOC) in partnership with the AT&T Center. SALOC – comprised of UTSA, the City of San Antonio, Visit San Antonio and San Antonio Sports – will also host the 2018 Final Four in the Alamodome March 31-April 2. The 2022 regional at the AT&T Center will mark the 11th NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament event hosted by UTSA in San Antonio since 1997.
