Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-nominated rock band Disturbed and German rock legend Scorpions will co-headline the fourth annual Bud Light River City Rockfest on Sunday, May 29 at the AT&T Center. This year’s Memorial Day weekend outdoor rock festival will feature more than 20 bands live on three stages. Developed by Spurs Sports & Entertainment in partnership with AEG Live, the Bud Light River City Rockfest is an annual celebration of rock music, the largest festival of its kind in South Texas and part of the 2016 “World’s Loudest Month” festival series. More than 25,700 screaming fans attended last year’s event.
“We’re honored to be part of such an amazing event,” said Disturbed frontman David Draiman. “The lineup speaks for itself, and there’s no stronger home for Hard Rock in the state of Texas than San Antonio.”
The fourth annual Bud Light River City Rockfest lineup also includes Megadeth, Bullet For My Valentine, Hellyeah, Sixx AM, Pop Evil, Sevendust, P.O.D., The Sword, Texas Hippie Coalition, Hatebreed, Devil Driver, Red Sun Rising, Avatar and Wild Throne. Additional bands will be announced at a later date.
Adding to the entertainment experience this year will be circus sideshow revue Hellzapoppin. The stunt show extravaganza includes a smorgasbord of dark artists, including a fire breather, a sword swallower, and an acrobat.

Grammy Award-nominated, multiplatinum hard rock band Disturbed returns after announcing a hiatus in 2011 to present its sixth studio album, Immortalized, released in August 2015. Formed in 1998 and propelled by the 2000 quadruple-platinum debut of The Sickness, Disturbed has produced nine No. 1 singles and sold over 12 million records globally. The band – comprised of David Draiman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums) and John Moyer (bass) – received a 2009 Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Inside the Fire”. Immortalized became Disturbed’s fifth consecutive #1 on the Billboard Top 200, making the band one of three in history to achieve that feat, alongside Metallica and Dave Matthews Band.
With 50 years of history and over 22 million albums sold, the Scorpions have solidified their spot as the most successful rock band in Continental Europe and a global favorite. The Hannover, Germany natives first reached the Billboard Top 200 in 1979 with Lovedrive, and later added three Top Ten albums to the charts with Blackout (#10, 1982), Love At First Sting (#6, 1984), and Savage Amusement (#5, 1988), as well as three Top Ten Hard Rock Albums. The Scorpions also boast seven Billboard Top Ten Singles, including 1982 #1 “No One Like You”. The rock legends have been covered by countless bands including Green Day and Korn, and anthemic favorite “Rock You Like A Hurricane” alone has been covered over 150 times by different musicians.
